Battlecon is a card/board game designed to replicate fighting games like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, BlazBlue, and Guilty Gear.
Each player has 6 base cards that everyone has. When you choose a fighter, you get 5 style and 1 unique Base. This allows every character to feel different in play. Put one of each face down, ante if you're able to, and then both players flip them over to see who strikes first, damage, and if they can hit. Then you can't use that combination for 2 more rounds.
It's not hard to teach and quickly goes from the equivalent of Button Mashing, as you get used to the character, to high level play when you're trying to outsmart your opponent by looking at the options you both have.
