Stars Without Number is a modern game of old-school rules for far future interstellar adventure.
Welcome to Merrit's Landing, star traveler. Now, everyone knows what you're here for but remember, technically, the fauna of this world are not dinosaurs. They may tower fifteen or more meters tall, the ground may thunder when they run and they may have all the gruesome teeth and claws and savage attitude you’d associate with the fantastic beasts of long-lost Earth’s primordial past, but strictly biologically speaking they’re not dinosaurs. Most people don’t argue the distinction, of course, not the ambitious hunters who come from all over the sector to face them, not the canny non-human natives who breed them for battle, certainly not the audiences worlds away who love watching tri-vids of them. So of course if the one behind you catches up, everyone will say you were eaten by a dinosaur...
