King Nutters of the Squirrel Kingdom has sent an emissary to parley with the Mayor of Willowroot to discuss the disposition of the lands south of the town. The emissary has now gone missing from the Crimson Boar Inn, before an important meeting with the Mayor. Missing along with the emissary is a treaty from the Squirrel King that would establish peace and free trade between mouse and squirrel.
The Mayor is now in a panic! Whispers and rumors of kidnapping, a mouse plot to expand into the Squirrel Kingdom, and threats of King Nutters planning an invasion are running rampant in Willowroot.
The Mouse Guard has been sent in to investigate the mystery and find out what happened to the emissary to stave off an invasion of squirrels into the Mouse territories.
